Ask Kato #002

BACK TO FERA

Dear Jakob,
Are you really cat people?
Curiousity.

Jakob says:
Do you know how offensive that is? It'd be like me asking if you were really monkey people.

But I get what you mean, yes our species evolved from felines, in the same way that humans evolved from Apes etc. It seems that when it came to humanoid species, Mu was far more diverse than Earth- no one has figured out why there was such a difference.

One theory is that life on Mu is slightly older than that on Earth. There's still arguments between academics of Mu as to whether humans truly evolved on Earth or were simply a branch from one or more of Mu's races that crossed the divide.

Dear Dee,
Why does Lepus sound an awful lot like "Lepers"? Does your race have Leprosy?
WTH?

Dee says:
Well, firstly you might be saying it wrong "Lepus" on Mu tends to be pronounced "lay-pass". From what we know of Earth, "Lepus" is currently used as a name for the genus of certain hare-like animals. So as you can imagine, the similarity between our race and that genus isn't too different. But no we don't have Leprosy, we're generally just as healthy as any human.

Dear Kato,
I thought you used to be in a band? Whatever happened to K-DAMD?
Melissa Boston.

Kato says:
Part of my training as a child was in the arts and music, although I haven't picked up an instrument in years... never heard of this "K-DAMD" though---

--- Network Representative: K-DAMD were a band made up of the original actors playing the parts of the FERA cast in a 1980's television show. (in the Tech-Diff universe)

Dear Kato,
Who are your closest friends?
not_a_psycho_honest_x.

Kato says:
um... well I'm closest to my family- my grandfather, mother and of course Dom'... as for friends, we've grown up with the blacksmith's daughter Dee but I can't say that we know each other all that well.

Well it seems thats all of the questions we have for this week.
Please keep those questions coming in and we'll see you again next week

Ask Kato #001

Dear Kato,

When did you lose your left ear, and does it effect your hearing?
Xade.

Kato says:
Great question, thats one thing no one seems to think about.

I lost the top half of that ear during a fight, but you'll have to keep reading to discover how. As for my hearing it has had a small impact but the ear itself still works fine so it's not as though I've completely lost hearing on that side.

Dear Kato,
Where did you get that magazine from anyway?
anon.

Kato says:
Ever since my father brokered a trading deal with the Lepas to the north we've been fortunate enough to gain items from the outside world as novelties. The magazines being one of these but also more important items such as clothing, metals, technology etc. and not forgetting beer.

Dear Kato,
Do you have a favourite food?
omgStalker.

Kato says:
So much to choose from. I really love food, and discovering new cuisine (unlike my sister who's always so picky). If I had to choose a favourite it'd be down to either roast chicken or fresh tuna.

Dear Kato,
Who is a better Enterprise captain: Kirk or Picard?
trekker.

Kato says:
um... what's an "Enterprise"? And who are those people? Are they human?
